I hold a self-conferred Rebel MFA — my own alternative to the traditional writing degree. It's a proud, deliberate stance, not a joke. I'm currently pursuing a self-designed Rebel Doctorate, studied in public through my essays.

Who I Am

I'm the author of more than twenty books across fiction and nonfiction, and I've spent over a decade helping people — especially trauma survivors — use writing as a tool for healing. Writing helped me heal and changed my life. I teach others to do the same using my method Writing Fiction to Heal™.

I don't tell you to “write your book.” I help you put what happened to you on the page in a form that can hold it. There's a difference — and if you've felt it, you already know.
