Interviewing The Light Seers Tarot Deck

Disclaimer: I approach my interviews as if it’s a conversation with the deck and write whatever comes to me intuitively. Sometimes, this shows up in the reflection as a stream of consciousness report. It may be hard to follow, but it’s an accurate depiction of my reactions/thoughts/feelings at the time of the interview.

Reflection of the interview:

The Two of Wands is a card of opportunities and possibilities. And the way the girl in the photo looks longingly out the window tells me that she is just waiting for an opportunity or possibility to happen. I think this deck is going to be full of surprises...full of opportunities and possibilities to explore the archetypes or shattered archetypes. I think it's going to present some surprising adventures that perhaps this girl is seeking. Well, how's that for an answer... the strength of this card is... the Strength card. The girl in the photo looks strong and confident next to the lamb, yet also...vulnerable. I think this is telling me that the deck is mainly one of strong themes and messages, but it comes with a certain amount of vulnerability attached to it. Perhaps, its meaning that if the reader of the cards is vulnerable in reading them, what comes out is strength? Interesting — the Queen of Swords is typically another sign of strength in my opinion, so to have it show up as a weakness tells me that perhaps the deck takes on more of dark/shadow side of this Queen — I'm wondering if this could be referencing a "tough love" kind of vibe. As the Queen can be blunt and to the point, maybe that's something to look out for in this deck? The Nine of Cups here resonates very quickly with me as it represents abundance and gratitude and use of gifts. I think this card is telling me that this deck has the potential to help me harness and manifest all of those things. I have the feeling that this deck is one to be used for personal growth and introspection and if the Nine of Cups is to be taken literally — there will be plenty of opportunities for it to provide abundance when I use it. Oh, this is very interesting to me. The Seven of Pentacles is one of my "shadow" cards and to have it show up, reversed, in this position tells me a lot, actually. To me, this card is telling me that I should be using this deck precisely when I don't want to be. When I'm feeling impatient and restless. When I feel like giving up when things get too hard. Also, coincidence that it's the ONLY reversed card in this spread? I think not. Ah, the King of Pentacles makes perfect sense here, especially following when I should call on it for guidance as the King of Pentacles is all about personal growth and the patience it takes to level up — whether that's internally or externally. I think this card is giving me a message loud and clear about working with it: when you feel like giving up or feel impatient, you're about to hit a point of leveling up... use this deck and with patience and personal growth, you'll see the rewards. The Page of Swords — another pretty telling card to complete this interview. I often resonate with the Page of Swords and her desire to consume education like one consumes food. Voraciously and with intent! I'm feeling like this card is telling me that using this deck will facilitate a deeply educational experience but that it will also force me to come face to face with some ideals or old ways of thinking that may need to be re-evaluated.

Any sensations/feelings to note:

I have to admit that I'd been eyeing this deck long before it arrived on my doorstep. I've been entranced by it's images and the representation of the figures. I also love everything the creator, Chris-Ann has to say so I may have been a bit biased going into this reading.

How do you feel about this deck after this reading?

Despite the bias I may have had, I couldn't believe the accuracy or connection I felt during this interview. It's one of those decks that seems to fit me like a glove. And that's a great thing because I've been interviewing lots of decks and not all of them feel that way. There's more that I feel a semi-connection with than a full-on connection like I do with this deck.

What do you like or dislike about this deck so far?

Honestly, there's so much I like about this deck and not much I dislike thus far. After interviewing and using it for a few readings, I'm pretty sure I'm on the side of "I love this deck!" I just seem to really connect to it and its energies while also getting good, solid, fruitful readings from it.
